My Story

My journey to Council:

Growing up in Kamloops, I was active in the community through dance, soccer, leadership opportunities with school and volunteering. I skied and snow boarded at Sun Peaks, swam at the Shuwsap and camped where ever there was a spot.

Prior to university, I went to Mexico through the Rotary Youth Exchange Program (Special thanks to Kamloops Daybreak) where I developed excellent communication skills and learned conversational Spanish. This experience gave me the travel bug that I have not been able to shake.

Currently I am a dance teacher in town, a dive coach, a Judo coach and co-run Lindy in the Loops Swing Dance.

Where I am at my best:

Team: I work best in a team environment where I can contribute ideas and energy to the vision.

Communication Style: Assertive and direct. I prefer to deal with conflict in the moment as it arises, before it becomes a significant issue.

Outlook: Positive and optimistic. I am known for saying “of course we can” to the idea, regardless of how ambitious. I believe that there is a way, we just have to figure it out!

Problem Solving: I am unafraid to take ownership of the problem. It doesn’t matter who is to blame, if we can’t own it, we can’t move forward.
